I got to run away for an idyllic three day trip to Pine, AZ for a friends bachelorette party. We had talked about the group just hanging in the cabin, playing card games and drinking mimosas, but we ended up doing a bit more exploring than I had expected. I mean, we definitely did our fair share of relaxing drinks and casual card games, but a few of the girls on the trip were interested in doing some hikes and antiquing (my kind of gals), and so we did.
There were a few really fun antique shops in this tiny little town. I found an old Polaroid 210 camera (from 1967) with a flash for $12 and a set of 6 drinking glasses with artwork of different cacti native to AZ. There was also some INCREDIBLE turquoise and silver jewelry that was far out of my price range, but it was nice to stare at it for a bit.
The first hike we went on was at Monument Peak loop trail in Payson, AZ. We had six out of the ten girls on this hike and we got to enjoy the summer breezes and greenery that Phoenix hikes don't normally have.
Tonto natural bridge state park
how have i not been here before?
On our drive out of Pine, myself and two other girls made a quick stop at the Tonto Natural Bridge State Park and did two quick little hikes. These hikes were incredible because they honestly aren't too exhausting or challenging and the views and experiences are unreal. The pay-off is way bigger than the work you put in haha. It's $7 to enter the park and next time I go back I'm going to make a day out of it, bring a picnic with and really soak it all in.
Definitely looking forward to another visit to Pine.
